Mercedes technically ending Maybach luxury line

Postby ColeenK on Fri Aug 24, 2012 10:00 am

Although the statement was made some time ago, with the launch of its 2013 price list, Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz has officially quit making its super-luxurious Maybach collection. Have you been in the market to sell or buy a new or used 2010 Ford Pickup Ranger Spokane WA? If this could be you, research Gus Johnson used cars Spokane.

Pricy Maybachs have moved slowly

Buying a Maybach will cost anywhere between $376,000 and $1,380,000. In 2004, the business sold 244 sedans, but final year it only sold 99 in the States. There was even a $100,000 rebate last year that did not help them sell faster. The peak of sales was in 2004, and it has only gone down since then. Even though there are a ton of reasons why Daimler AG would let the collection go, the biggest most likely has to do with sales.

Purchase a 2012

If you always wanted one, you had better get a Maybach right now. All the 2012 models are getting sold at big discounts to be able to get rid of them as fast as possible.

Development of luxury lines
In the 1990s, all three major German car manufacturers decided to create super-luxury lines, using respected names from the past. Volkswagen revived the Bentley, BMW acquired Rolls-Royce, and Mercedes took on the even more-distant Maybach line. However, the limo-like super-luxury sedans never took off for any automaker in a way that was hoped for.

Maybachs to pick from

The three lines in the Maybach will be leaving. They consist of the Maybach Landulet, a 6.0-liter V12 with 620 horsepower, the Maybach Type 62 and the Maybach Type 57. The 57 and 62 both get 543 horsepower with a 5.5 liter V12.

Competition for Rolls-Royce and Bentley

The 600S Pullman is another car from the past that Daimler is going to be adding to the collection though, according to AOL Autos. It will join the S series in order to compete with Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Daimler will not stop providing the courtesy of brand new cars to consumers. All types of engines are supposedly going to be accessible with the new Pullman.

There was a long wheel-base version of the Mercedes-Benz known as the Pullman.
