Ok, Its time for me to ask questions this time
I need an affordable motorbike mechanic who is willing to come to my place to get my motorbike up and running. I can pick and drop the person. Just dont feel like paying 500 extra for the tow truck. I know I am being cheap here.
The issue is something simple...seems like the spark plugs need to be cleaned as its not starting. I just dont have the tools (or the knowledge) to do it myself

Hey Root,
There are two things you could do. One if you want to try doing it yourself then download the Haynes manual online for your specific bike free of cost and dot it.
OR
try speaking to AL Farooqi in Satwa. They would be the cheapest motorcycle mechanics also repairing sports bike located in Satwa.
The choice is yours.
Glad to be of some help to the ADMIN.

Yes, I've gotta old Yamaha FZR-400 rusting away in the garage that I want to get ready for the winter season.
I got the manual off the internet and tried doing it myself, but its a lot of hassle, and I dont have the right tools.
Al-Farooqi in Satwa sounds like a good start. Where in Satwa or do you have their phone number?
Appreciate this , and yes, I dont have all the answers...just try to help where I can.

Its behind the post office. If you enter Satwa from the Rydges hotel roundabout.
The first left that you would be able to take climbing over a sidewalk is where you need to go. There are some shops there that sell engine oils, some bit of hardware and some shops who do the odd jobs relating to cars.
Farooqi is in that same lane. Just ask anyone and they will let you know.
If you are coming from the other way then the last parking lot that is available in satwa before you exit to the Rydges hotel, take your car in again you would find the same shops selling engine oil and stuff and as you step on the pavement the Al Farooqi board is available. You cannot enter the lane from this side but you can enter the parking lot and park there.
That is where you need to go. Those people are cheap compared to any others, Authorised showrooms or Motorcycle city or any other.
Dont have a number for them sorry for that.

Hey, got my bike into shape yesterday!
I went for the Al Farooq MC repair in Satwa. Got it done cheaply.
Got affiliated Khan Saheb to pick up my MC cheap as well. Last time I paid 300 dhm for the tow-pick up guy only.
Now, just need to get the insurance papers and tasjeel done and I'm game.
I just realized (again) how careless (read idiotic) some people drive and respect motorbikes...will just drive on as if you dont exist.

well, the problem was with the carburator not passing through fuel as it should. It was solved by some cleaning work. Also needed to get the horn fixed, battery changed. Got it all done in 180 AED which is a deal for me.
Now, I need to find a similar deal for my insurance.

Got my bike picked up this morning. (BTW, this pick-up guy is great and cheap as well...an old guy Mr Khan).
Will probably be there tomorrow to pick it up. Will tell ya when I know better.
ICE...where did you get insurance? My current insurer is trying to rip me off, so I want to find someone else who is cheap.

I got my insurance from a guy. who works for emirates insurance.
Trust me I got ripped too.
First because these days they have stopped insuring bikes.
Second I had a new license.
Anyways try these. I am sure it should be a bit easy for you coz you have a car license and also a probably a motorcycle license that is a year old
050 5356290 Mr. ali
04 3963222 omega insurance
The average rate for a 400cc is 650 - 700
Let me know if any came in handy.
Regards
